Artist statement

A self-developed visual artist, I dabble with watercolour and ink, primarily on watercolour paper. I find as much pleasure in letting colour flow unbridled on wet paper as I am drawn to the crisp black line left with a qalam. My paintings span from expressionistic renditions of flowers and landscapes to Arabic calligraphy to abstract pieces. Vivid, saturated colours, and textures are the hallmark of my work. My process is daring, starting with bold application of colour; I aim for the final piece to be reflective of that energy , evoking a sense of richness and vibrancy that life itself offers.
